Case Study #12 : Non Profit Organization
A truck needs reconfiguration from multiple vendors located in various states in order to meet
the customer’s request.
A large not-for-profit Public Access Television Station needed to finance a mobile editing truck. The mobile editing truck included multiple vendors who needed the truck to reconfigure the editing bays. The process was estimated to take 9 months. Each vendor had costs of at least $250,000.00. The client did not want to pay progress payments but also needed to fund this transaction in two different fiscal years in order to meet their annual capital budget guidelines set by the board of directors. We negotiated extended terms with multiple vendors through purchase orders to match the timeline set forth with the customer. We leveraged the final two vendors by requesting a discount for payment within 10 days and received approval on 90 day terms from two of the vendors. We included the cost to carry the payment made to the truck vendor into the monthly payments, thus avoiding the need for progress payments.
